2020 SMARTER Conference

RSA Europe in partnership with European Commission's Joint Research Centre invite you to submit an abstract to the 2020 SMARTER Conference on Smart Specialisation and Territorial Development taking place in Seville, Spain.


Please submit proposals for papers in the form of a long abstract (500words, text only, no pictures, graphs or tables) structured in the following sections: Motivation/objectives; Main research question(s); Methodology; Results; Implications and discussion; Resources/references.


Please submit proposals for papers by 17th July 2020. Proposals will be considered by the Conference Programming Committee against the criteria of originality, interest and subject balance.

The conference will be FREE to attend for successful candidates ( travel & accommodation must to covered by the participant) and is open to both RSA members and non-RSA members. Please do not book your travel, accommodation or make other plans to attend until you hear that your application to attend has been accepted. Places are limited at this event. Successful applicants will be notified by 30th September 2020.

The Regional Studies Association works with its international membership to facilitate the highest standards of theoretical development, empirical analysis and policy debate of issues at this sub-national scale, incorporating both the urban and rural and different conceptions of space such as city-regions and interstitial spaces.
